Press Release

PATCHOGUE, NY - Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), member of the Congressional Bipartisan Coronavirus Task Force, applauded the House and Senate for passing and the President for signing the Families First Coronavirus Act (H.R. 6201) into law. This law provides free coronavirus testing, paid sick leave, family leave for caregivers, food assistance for the needy and enhanced unemployment insurance.

“The ongoing outbreak of coronavirus is an ever-evolving situation that has had an extraordinary impact on our everyday lives, which is why this legislation is a measured, common-sense, but extraordinary proposal to assist Americans under the circumstances,”said Congressman Zeldin. “Every level of government has a responsibility to work together to ensure Americans have the resources they need to take care of themselves and their loved ones and come out stronger than ever on the other side. With the federal government continuing to deliver for these hard working men and women, I look forward to fighting alongside our state and local officials in New York to help contain and combat this outbreak as much as possible.”
