Rep. Zeldin Helps Secure Approval of Automated Coronavirus Testing at Long Island’s Northwell Health Labs
PATCHOGUE, NY - Following Northwell Health Labs’ recent approval for manual coronavirus testing, Congressman Zeldin urged the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to expedite the approval for use of automated coronavirus testing at labs across the state, including Northwell Health Labs.
Today, after helping secure the approval of automated testing at Northwell Health Labs on Long Island, which allows the lab to carry out a higher volume of coronavirus tests and increase testing availability, Congressman Zeldin issued the following statement:
“The State of New York is one of the states hardest hit by the coronavirus outbreak, and, over the last several weeks, I’ve been in constant contact with those at every level of government to ensure this is a whole government, top to bottom approach. This most recent approval for automated testing is just the latest in a long streak of bilateral cooperation between the federal and state government, and I look forward to continuing to work together to try to contain coronavirus as much as possible.”
