Rep. Zeldin Honors Bataan Death March Survivor at Ceremony in East Patchogue

East Patchogue, NY - On Sunday, May 28, 2017, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) attended a ceremony at VFW Post 8300 in East Patchogue in honor of Sergeant Roger Baker, a survivor of the Bataan Death March. This year is the 75th anniversary of the Bataan Death March, when approximately 75,000 American and Filipino prisoners of war were forcibly marched 65 miles to prison camps, during which thousands perished. At the ceremony, Sergeant Baker’s medals and uniform were dedicated to the Post to be put on display in his honor. Congressman Zeldin is pictured above, left, during the dedication.
