Rep. Zeldin, Local Elected Officials, Veterans, and Volunteers Commemorate Opening Of Calverton Warrior Ranch

CALVERTON, NY - On Saturday, July 25, 2020, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), joined Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Suffolk County Legislators Susan Berland, Sarah Anker, and Steve Flotteron, Riverhead Town Supervisor Yvette Aguiar, Warrior Ranch Founder and President Eileen Shanahan, Warrior Ranch Vice President Tony Simonetti, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army Steven Castleton, and local veterans and volunteers to commemorate the opening of the Warrior Ranch in Calverton.
The Warrior Ranch Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to connect rescued horses with veterans to assist both in finding companionship and purpose while helping each other transition back to civilian life.
“On average, the United States loses 20 of its veterans every day to suicide, and every one is one too many.” said Congressman Zeldin. “The next chapter for Warrior Ranch will help them expand their successful mission of caring for our local veterans returning with the invisible wounds of war in unique therapeutic ways.”
