Rep. Zeldin on Nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court

WASHINGTON - Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) issued the following statement after President Trump nominated D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court:

“Congratulations to Judge Kavanaugh on his nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. I strongly believe that regardless of whether a Judicial Court nominee is chosen by a Republican President or a Democrat President, or whether the nominee is conservative, moderate, or liberal in his or her beliefs, it is most important that the individual would not be an activist on the bench or allow their personal beliefs overcome the required objectivity to strictly interpret the law and our Constitution. Rooted in a long history of service to our nation's justice system, I look forward to the Senate’s consideration and deliberation of the President’s nominee.”
