Zeldin: “We have one president at a time, and those conversations weren’t helpful”

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) questioned former Secretary of State and current member of President Biden’s National Security Council John Kerry regarding four meetings with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif during the Trump administration.

Congressman Zeldin specifically asked Kerry about meeting with Zarif at the 2019 Munich Security Conference, whether or not they discussed U.S. foreign policy, how many times he met with Zarif during the Trump administration, which other Americans were present, meeting with House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff in Munich, and if he ever advocated his personal policy preferences to Zarif during the Trump administration.

“We have one president at a time, and those conversations weren’t helpful,” Rep. Zeldin told Kerry at the conclusion of his allotted time.
