Rep. Zeldin Statement on US-Israel-UAE Announcement
WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), Co-Chair of the House Republican Israel Caucus, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, and one of two Jewish Republicans in Congress, issued the following statement on the announcement by the United States, Israel and United Arab Emirates of an agreement to fully normalize relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates:
“The United States and the world are safer when America effectively leads on the world stage, and today’s historic deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates forwards the cause of peace and security in the Middle East and represents real progress in this centuries-long mission. Allowing travel, commerce and the exchange of embassies and ambassadors will establish a bilateral relationship that will lead the way for other regional powers to do the same. I thank President Trump for his continued leadership to unite our allies in a collective front against Iranian aggression in the region and around the world.”
